One moment you are circling dates on the calendar, and the next you have a child at home with weeks ahead and the question of how to fill the time meaningfully. If you are looking for a summer camp that offers something more than screen time, Invictus International School's Dempsey Hill campus has put together a lineup that is well worth knowing about.
This summer, Invictus Dempsey Hill is opening its doors to children who want to spend the holidays doing something they genuinely love. Rather than offering a single programme that tries to be everything at once, we have curated three distinct camps, each one delivered by specialist external providers in collaboration with Penn Junior Academy and Invictus Dempsey Hill, and designed with a different kind of child in mind. Whether your child comes alive on a stage, thrives when they are thinking strategically, or simply wants to move, make, and explore, there is a summer camp here that will feel made for them.
Curtain Up: A Play in a Week (Week of 22nd June)
For children who love to perform, tell stories, and throw themselves into creative work, Curtain Up is a wonderful fit. Over the course of one week, children will work together to create and stage a play completely from scratch. That means exploring theatre, storytelling, movement, design, costumes, and set and puppet making — all building towards a final showcase for families.
What makes this camp special is how much ground it covers in such a short time. Children develop confidence in front of others, learn to collaborate under a shared creative vision, and discover what they are capable of when given the space to lead and contribute. For children who have always had a flair for drama or a love of storytelling, this is the kind of experience they will talk about long after the holidays are over.
Beyond the Board: Chess and Roleplay Camp (Week of 29th June)
Not every child wants to be on a stage, and that is perfectly fine. Beyond the Board is designed for children who enjoy thinking carefully, imagining other worlds, and solving problems in creative ways. This summer camp combines chess instruction, tactics, problem-solving, and informal tournament play with storytelling and the Birchguard Quest roleplay adventure, turning what might otherwise feel like a traditional strategy session into something that feels far more like an adventure.
Children learn the game through the lens of storytelling and character, which tends to make the logic click in a way that drills and exercises alone rarely manage. It is a great option for children who are curious, enjoy strategy games, or have a natural love of fantasy and imagination. Along the way, children develop key skills including problem-solving, collaboration, confidence, creativity, communication, and perseverance — and it is genuinely fun.
Camposaur: Fantasy Carnival (Week of 6th July)
For the child who needs to move, Camposaur is exactly where they need to be. This camp blends sports, arts and crafts, fantasy-themed activities, and hands-on play — all building towards a Grand Finale excursion — into one big, energetic week. The fantasy carnival theme runs through everything, giving the whole experience a sense of magic and excitement that keeps children engaged from morning to afternoon.
The highlight of the week is the Grand Finale excursion — a trip to Dopamine Land and beach play at Siloso Beach — giving children something to look forward to and a shared adventure to end on together. If your child is happiest when they are active, creative, and surrounded by other children doing the same, Camposaur will feel like a natural fit.
